BREAKFAST (8:00 – 8:30 am)

I. TBD (8:30 – 9:00 am)

II. AN INTRODUCTION TO “PRIVACY FOR AMERICA” (9:00 – 10:00 am)
On April 8, ANA and the 4A’s, IAB, and NAI announced the creation of the new “Privacy for America” coalition, which will work for the enactment of comprehensive federal privacy and data security legislation. At the center of the new coalition is a new paradigm for a national law that aims to make personal data less vulnerable and sets a clear, enforceable standard for privacy protection. Stu Ingis of Venable LLP, who is leading the coalition for the industry, will provide an overview of the coalition and how members can participate.

Speaker:
Stuart P. Ingis,
Partner and Chairman - Venable LLP

III. FEDERAL AND STATE LEGISLATIVE OVERVIEW (10:00 – 11:00 am)
It has been an extremely active winter and spring in statehouses around the country. A number of state legislatures, including California, Texas, Washington, and Illinois, have been actively considering privacy legislation in their current sessions. Additionally, the FTC has been very active in the privacy area on the federal level, and a number of bills relating to privacy have been introduced in Congress. Dan Jaffe and Chris Oswald of ANA will provide an update on what’s been going on and where things might be headed as we enter into summer.

Speakers:
Dan Jaffe,
Group Executive Vice President, Government Relations - ANA
Chris Oswald, Senior Vice President, Government Relations - ANA
