For April’s meeting, attorneys from Davis+Gilbert LLP will provide updates on recent FTC and NAD activity, copyright and trademark updates, and related developments in privacy law. Attorney's Louis DiLorenzo, Jean Shin and Jacklyn Siegel will be presenting.

Louis DiLorenzo, Associate in the Advertising, Marketing & Promotions Practice Group of Davis & Gilbert. He represents advertising agencies, media companies and brands in connection with various aspects of advertising, marketing and entertainment, including compliance with federal and state law as well as with copyright, trademark, and publicity rights. On a daily basis, he reviews advertising concepts and executions for major brands and provides guidance to business and creative professionals that enables them to engage with consumers while staying in compliance with the law.

Mr. DiLorenzo draws on previous experience as a litigator in counseling clients on false advertising and regulatory issues, including claim substantiation and compliance with Federal Trade Commission (FTC) industry guides. He regularly represents clients in business disputes before the National Advertising Division (NAD) and with the Screen Actors Guild (SAG), and in regulatory enforcement actions by the Federal Trade Commission and state attorneys general.

Jean H. Shin, Associate in the Advertising, Marketing & Promotions; Entertainment, Media & Sports; Intellectual Property; and Digital Media, Technology & Privacy Practice Groups of Davis & Gilbert. She advises clients in advertising, marketing, media law and data privacy matters, as well as copyright, trademark and other intellectual property issues.

Ms. Shin advises clients on compliance with data privacy laws and regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Her practice also includes reviewing marketing and promotional materials for legal compliance, drafting and reviewing agreements for digital media and e-commerce companies, and advising on copyright infringement matters.

Jacklyn M. Siegel, is Counsel in the Litigation and Intellectual Property Practice Groups of Davis & Gilbert. Her practice includes a broad range of intellectual property, complex commercial and employment issues and disputes. Ms. Siegel regularly represents clients in intellectual property disputes related to copyrights, trademarks, trade dress, rights of publicity, trade secrets, unfair competition and false advertising. She also assists clients seeking to proactively protect their intellectual property rights by asserting and defending their trademarks, copyrights, and domain names. She has experience defending clients in federal and state courts and in proceedings at both the trial and appellate court levels, as well as in resolving alleged claims through pre-litigation dispute resolution.

Ms. Siegel maintains an active commercial litigation practice, representing companies and individuals in a variety of industries in matters related to breaches of contracts, fraud, mergers and acquisitions, payment and ownership interest disputes and business torts. She has also represented clients in employment litigations and workplace investigations involving restrictive covenants and claims of harassment, discrimination and retaliation.
