IWG Report Still a No-Go Without Cost/Benefit Analysis

The Continuing Resolution passed last week by the Senate and House to fund the government through the end of September continues the prohibition on the FTC issuing a final Interagency Working Group (IWG) report until it performs a cost/benefit analysis. This is essentially the same language seen in the Continuing Resolution that expires on March 27th and the 2012 Omnibus Appropriations Bill.

The bill, H.R. 933, passed the Senate on a 73-26 vote and the House on a 267-151 vote. It goes into effect on March 28th and funds the government through September 30, 2013, setting the stage for yet more congressional showdowns over a 2014 budget.
