The ANA Opens Competition for 16th Annual Multicultural Excellence Awards

New Categories Include Experiential, B2B, and Audio

NEW YORK (April 18, 2016) The ANA (Association of National Advertisers) is now accepting entries for its annual Multicultural Excellence Awards, which this year add new categories for Experiential and B2B. The Radio category has been refreshed as Audio, and now covers radio, internet radio, and podcasts.

Now in its 16th year, the Multicultural Excellence Awards recognize outstanding multicultural advertising campaigns produced by marketers and their agencies. Winners will be announced at the 2016 ANA Multicultural Marketing & Diversity Conference presented by Time Inc. on October 9 in Los Angeles.

Entry criteria
For a campaign to be eligible, it must have appeared between June 2015 and June 2016. Entries are open to ANA members and nonmember companies, or agencies and media companies submitting on behalf of their clients. Winners will be chosen based on the creativity of the campaign and relevancy to the targeted segment. This year’s categories are:

  • African-American
  • Asian
  • Audio (Radio, Internet Radio, and Podcasts)
  • Business-to-Business
  • Digital, Social, Mobile Media
  • Experiential Marketing
  • Hispanic
  • LGBT
  • People with Disabilities
  • Print
  • Total Market
  • Significant Results

Companies and agencies are encouraged to submit multiple entries within a category or across multiple categories. In addition to agencies, media companies are welcome to submit on behalf of their clients.

Entrants in all categories also are eligible to enter the Significant Results category. The winner in that category will be chosen based on demonstration of quantifiable business results. For additional rules, fees, and submission guidelines, visit www.ana.net/awards16.

The deadline for submissions is July 8, 2016. Entry fees are $525 each for early-bird submissions until July 1, after which entries are $625. Submissions in the Significant Results category carry an additional $25 entry fee.

“The importance of reaching multicultural consumers is key to any marketer’s success,” said Bob Liodice, president and CEO of the ANA. “The Multicultural Excellence Awards are one of our most significant honors because they recognize marketers who have made significant strides toward achieving that goal.”

A portion of the proceeds collected from the submission fees fund scholarships for high-potential multicultural students planning to pursue careers in advertising and marketing. For questions about the Multicultural Excellence Awards, contact Janine Martella at 212.455.8039.
