Director, Data & Technology - MarTech

Data and Technology are key cornerstones of the ANA Masters Circle for driving business and brand growth. Additionally, Data and Technology has been identified as one of the 5 top business priorities by the overall CMO community. As part of the Data and Technology imperative, MarTech has been deemed a top priority area by marketers, given the substantial investments and the exploding complex landscape marketers are required to navigate. ANA intends on being fully immersed in the MarTech ecosystem to help marketers demystify the Tech Stack, bring greater clarity and transparency to the system overall, and to help CMO’s and their organizations optimize their Data and Technology investments. ANA/s Data and Technology practice is squarely positioned at the center of these strategic imperatives and our aim is to build out and scale products that will be recognized as the go-to resource for navigating marketing technology in the U.S. and globally. This role will be responsible for building out custom products and services senior marketers and the CMO segment of ANA’s member base. The Director, Data & Technology - MarTech position will play a key role in the Data & Technology team and will be closely integrated with the Masters Circle practice.


Provide dedicated leadership to the Group EVP and SVP in meeting the MarTech mandate as outlined by the Global CMO Growth Council

Develop custom assets intended specifically for CMOs and client-side marketer data and technology leaders, to be shared within their community as they are deemed mission-critical. Specific assets will be discussed during the interview process

Develop ongoing relationship with top MarTech providers and industry leaders to facilitate content creation, partnership optimization and CMO access to top industry thinking and developments

Create collaboration with marketers as it pertains to product development and the ANA Masters Circle team

  • To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
    • Excellent knowledge and experience in MarTech and data-driven marketing, including direct MarTech experience at a client, agency, or MarTech solutions provider or start-up
    • Conversant in MarTech/Tech Stack components, procurement, integration and socialization o Leadership presence and ability to interact with high level executives from member organizations and key Data & Marketing Technology partners and industry players
    • Capable of quickly establishing credibility as a leader and innovator, as well as for follow through on commitments to members o Excellent project management skills and ability to drive key strategic initiatives. Getting things done in an environment of change is a continuously present imperative o Excellent communications skills – able to write and present effectively; adjust to fit the audience and the message; strong ability to get a message across and be persuasive
    • Self-directed and mature approach to colleagues, members, and the industry Start-up sense of urgency o Entrepreneurial mindset
    • Adapts well to change and is comfortable with fluid agenda/scope 
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in data-driven marketing sales; client, agency or data, analytics or marketing technology solution provider
  • Global and industry experience is considered very helpful
  • Experience with data, analytics, or AdTech is considered very helpful
  • Bachelor's degree required
