The ANA (Association of National Advertisers)’s mission is to drive growth for marketing professionals, for brands and businesses, and for the industry. Growth is foundational for all participants in the ecosystem. The ANA seeks to align those interests by leveraging the 12-point ANA Masters Circle agenda, which has been endorsed and embraced by the ANA Board of Directors and the Global CMO Growth Council. The ANA’s membership consists of more than 1,600 domestic and international companies, including more than 1,000 client-side marketers and nonprofit fundraisers and 600 marketing solutions providers (data science and technology companies, ad agencies, publishers, media companies, suppliers, and vendors). Collectively, ANA member companies represent 20,000 brands, engage 50,000 industry professionals, and invest more than $400 billion in marketing and advertising annually.


Position Summary:

We are seeking a unique individual who must have the following skills to be successful:

  • Proven subject matter expert in tech stack -Data/ MarTech
  • Seasoned and recognized journalist
  • Expert communicator and interviewer
  • Highly motivated self-starter


The individual will own and publish a CMO e-newsletter comprised of ongoing lessons learned from interviews and curated content from senior ANA client-side marketers. The goal is to gather, create, and disseminate timely updates and perspectives from marketers on key tech stack (Data and MarTech lessons learned. Specifically, pertaining to the purchase, implementation, and optimization of marketing tech/data stacks.

This e-newsletter will inform and educate the broader CMO, emerging CMO, and performance marketer communities on various MarTech and data stack issues and topics. Content will be sourced through one-on-one conversations, surveys, attendance at forums, and insights acquired as a subject matter expert. The role reports to the executive who will be hired to lead the CMO data/tech practice and ultimately into Bill Tucker, Group EVP.

The individual must have an understanding of how MarTech solutions, software, and platforms drive marketing solutions and decision-making. He/she must be comfortable interviewing and interacting with C level members about related MarTech needs, challenges, and approaches and translating complicated subject matter in a compelling, understandable, and actionable way.

The right candidate will have 15-20 years’ experience and currently serve as an editor/exec editor or senior writer in the tech industry.

Location:
New York, NY 

Responsibilities:
  • Continually engage with chief marketers and performance marketers to identify the most effective MarTech practices and pitfalls. 
  • Continually create/develop compelling content focused on MarTech subject matter 
  • Attend Masters Circle working team meetings with chief marketers to identify existing and anticipated MarTech issues and solutions
  • Facilitate in-person, and online conversations with senior marketers
Qualifications:
  • Proactive self-starter, highly-detail oriented, and the ability to raise the bar
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication/project management skills
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Ability to collaborate with internal business units to drive awareness
  • Proven and recognized journalist with a deep understanding of the current MarTech landscape and burgeoning trends
  • Demonstrated ability to engage C-suite marketing executives in the discussion, and to lead working team meetings
  • Working knowledge of MarTech platforms like Adobe, Marketo, Salesforce, Oracle Marketing Cloud, HubSpot, Pardot, and others
  • Ability to measure and report on the impact of content programs
  • Team player with an aptitude for multitasking
