Job Description and Duties

Travel for this position is required up to 40% and may be overnight. This position may include working nights, weekends and some holidays.

Under direction of the Promotions & Events Staff Services Manager II, and the lead of the Senior Marketing Specialist, the Marketing Specialist is responsible for the development and execution of various promotions, events, and experiential marketing programs that support the Lottery’s mission of maximizing supplemental funding for public education through the sale of Lottery products.

Desirable Qualifications
In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
  • A bachelor’s degree, preferably with a specialization in marketing, communications, or related field.
  • Deep understanding of the creative requirements and production process for experiential activations.
  • A proven track record of at least three years of planning and executing multiple, complex event marketing programs for major brands.
  • Very strong project management skills including ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects at once.
  • Experience directing and managing agencies and vendors, including the creation, project management, and analysis of relevant contracts and budgets.
  • Ability to think strategically with strong analytical and quantitative skills - ability to use data to develop and measure experiential programs.
  • Knowledge of current best practices and emerging new strategies for event marketing.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills. Customer-facing experience in retail or customer service is a bonus.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office suite of programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in lottery, gaming, entertainment, and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) categories preferred.
  • Bilingual skills are highly desirable, but not required.
