Marketing Specialist

Job Summary

The Marketing Specialist operates under the general supervision of the Director of Marketing and Creative Services. Primary responsibilities include coordinating and supporting marketing, advertising and graphic design projects and vendors.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinates and supports the creative identity for the MAA brand with both offline and online graphic design projects end-to-end by assisting with managing layouts, approval processes and final assets (signage, advertising, etc.).
  • Coordinates and facilitates the development and approval process for promotional materials in collaboration with divisional sales and marketing leaders.¬†
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for photography and video vendors.¬† Works with division operations management to coordinate timelines, pre-production and on-site management of photo shoots, proof selection, post-production/revision process and submission of final photographs to go live on company website and Internet Listing Service (ILS) partners (e.g., Zillow).¬†
  • Compiles and recommends online sales and marketing resources via marketing toolkit (leasing office collateral, promotional items, and business cards, etc.) for properties.¬† Works with a third-party vendor and ensures continual enhancements to optimize user experience based on feedback from division sales and operations management.
  • Supports digital marketing through the creative development and maintenance of website collateral.
  • Manages, codes and submits all applicable marketing vendor invoices accurately and timely for approval and payment processing.
  • Writes copy that aligns with the tone and voice of the company brand for company website and property pages as well as paid and social media campaigns.
  • Works with external agency partners on various content and/or creative projects.
  • Supports and assists with the design, copy writing and publishing of a monthly newsletter template and resident calendar for properties to promote resident relations.¬†
  • Uses Photoshop and other creative software applications to assist with and facilitate creative updates for online and offline creative materials as needed.
  • Manages Project Management Request system for the Marketing team and monitors all system tracking for team.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to meet the needs of the business.¬†

 

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor‚Äôs degree in marketing, communications, business or a related field required.
  • 3-5 years of marketing, graphic design, project management and/or copy writing experience required.
  • Experience with Adobe Cloud Creative, InDesign and/or Photoshop applications required.

 

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master‚Äôs degree in marketing or a related field preferred.

  • Customer relationship management skills and responsiveness to internal and external stakeholders and/or vendors
  • Critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility to develop and implement viable solutions.¬†
  • Efficient and effective organizational skills to coordinate multiple projects, prioritize tasks and meet daily demands and deadlines
  • Project management skills to efficiently coordinate assigned projects with internal stakeholders and vendors during the project lifecycle
  • Knowledge of marketing principles and practices
  • Knowledge of advertising tools, practices and applications
  • Graphic design and desktop publishing skills with applications such as Microsoft Publisher, Adobe Creative Cloud programs, and Photoshop
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
