Specialist II, Brand Marketing


Independently contributes to the development and creation of effective integrated marketing strategies to deliver rich, engaging content for consumers while supporting and elevating the credibility of the Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultants, sustaining the growth of the Company’s strategic priorities. Supports execution of total focus, 360-degree modular marketing campaigns, overseeing development of global creative, marketing and branding assets. Conducts background research and competitive analysis and reviews metrics and KPIs, to support the Creative Brief, ensuring creative, marketing and branding assets are globally relevant and effective. Will have own projects and with some guidance, deliver on projects. 


1. Assists project managers with the development of global creative, marketing and branding assets to support the skin care business by conducting competitive research and sourcing inspiration to prepare creative briefs, collaborating with Brand development partners, gathering regional requests, working with web and digital partners to optimize content and SEO, tracking asset development through creative services, and creating launch support communication. Independently conducts follow up communications, requests and/or research as needed by Manager and department Director. Creates request for proposals and interacts with various people across the Corporate marketing ecosystem serving as the key point of contact for standard communications and announcements of upcoming launches and updates to marketing partners around the world. 

2. With input from various partners, independently creates and distributes standard division communication to Mary Kay marketing partners around the world. Maintains open dialogue with regional partners to gain awareness of what is happening within their markets. With direction and oversight, writes, edits, and communicates corporate, product and market announcements to key partners and stakeholders. Distributes and tracks all global toolkit announcements. Communication skills should be highly developed to manage complexity of working across cultures and departments. 

3. With direction, coordinates details and executes logistics of special events and sponsorships associated with the Brand Marketing Team. Supports event budget, sources product and support materials, and serves as a liaison to external partners and ensures flawless execution. 

4. Conducts background research and competitive analysis and reviews metrics and KPIs. Conducts post launch analysis to understand asset adoption and region social media performance. 

5. Tracks corporate program adoption across markets and delivers initial analysis to Manager for global roll-up of analytics and program debriefs, contributing to a continuous improvement environment. May be asked to compile specific information from the Corporate Dashboard to support Manager and/or Director Communications and/or presentations.

6. Conducts ad hoc research for special projects requested by Manager or Director. 

7. Reviews analytics and provides reports to team members and regions as needed.

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in Business, Communications, Marketing, Online and/or Social Media Marketing or related field.

  • 2-3 years of experience in cross-functional corporate or agency environment required, including direct experience with social media and digital marketing. Beauty and/or direct selling experience a plus.

1. The ideal candidate will bring integrated marketing experience with a passion for social media and working in a corporate environment. Critical to this position’s success is the ability to manage multiple routine projects at the same time with acute attention to detail. 

2. This role requires a unique blend of analytical and innovative thinking, creativity, and technical proficiency, as well as solid communication and project management skills to contribute to the department’s best-in-class 360-degree marketing execution.

3. Expected to demonstrate understanding of a linked spectrum of global marketing, PR, social media, promotions and advertising ideation, as well as basic program management skills.

4. Must be able to support development of brand experiences from a consumer and Independent Sales Force point of view. This requires an understanding of the Mary Kay Product line to be acquired and an understanding of general cosmetics and beauty care consumable and beauty customer segments at a detailed level, as well as understanding consumer and Independent Beauty Consultant needs/expectations.

8. Strong written and verbal communication skills, reliability and professionalism are essential.

9. Must have good presentation skills and be comfortable presenting in front of large audiences.

10. Must have solid personal judgment, ability to identify misinformation and track disparate information is critical to keeping programs on track.

11. Must be self-sufficient, able to prioritize and organize and possess time and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks with aggressive deadlines.

12. Ability to deal with ambiguity and rapidly changing priorities.

13. Must be a Brand Ambassador for the Mary Kay Brand and ensure all tactics adhere to Branding guidelines and global social media strategy.
