Director, Demand Generation

The Role:

Morning Consult is seeking a savvy, dynamic leader to manage and run Morning Consult’s demand generation and marketing operations initiatives. The Director of Demand Generation will be responsible for developing and managing the company’s demand generation program objectives, tactics and metrics to drive the pipeline.

This is a new role at Morning Consult and will be focused on owning the company’s marketing stack, working with outside agencies and leveraging a multi-channel approach across email, social and other channels. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute demand generation programs using industry best practices that are effective for the B2B business model
  • Define and develop lead nurturing campaigns based on target buyer personas and real-time measurements based on lead quality and conversion
  • Own and leverage Morning Consult marketing channels, mainly email and social, to accelerate lead flow and conversion rate
  • Own reporting and communication of marketing impact, while building a clear understanding of demand generation goals, success metrics and impact across the organization.
  • Own our Marketing tech stack - be our in-house Salesforce Marketing Cloud expert and use this expertise to create efficient and effective programs for the marketing team
  • Audit and improve all existing marketing programs to optimize workflow and tracking
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Work with MarComms team to identify key content for driving leads and positioning Morning Consult products and services
    • Work with the Business Development team to ensure campaign consistency, clarity and accountability for lead generation efforts
    • Work with Commercial Ops to clean and maintain customer and prospect data and identify key customer segmentation opportunities for demand generation efforts.
Desired Skills:
  • Proven expertise running demand gen/growth/performance programs and teams, particularly in the SaaS space
  • Analytical mindset with ability to track and report on leading campaign performance metrics as well as lagging revenue attribution, revenue influence and ROI
  • Experience owning a Marketing or Sales tech stack
  • Experience with CRM (Salesforce.com) and marketing automation (Marketing Cloud) systems
  • Proficiency with SEM, email marketing, SEO, display and social media advertising
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, programs and priorities in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated success driving revenue through marketing campaigns
  • Excellent visual, verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, writing skills and the ability to work effectively with people at all levels
  • A scrappy, hard-working attitude
