Senior Research Analyst

Job Description and Major Responsibilities

VISIT FLORIDA, the official tourism marketing corporation for the State of Florida, is looking for an individual to fill our Senior Research Analyst position. You will serve as project lead on projects related to consumer insights, marketing strategy development, and marketing effectiveness measurement. Projects will cover domestic audience segments and international markets.

 


Examples of work performed include:
  • Developing quarterly estimates of the number of visitors to the state.
  • Managing outside vendors commissioned to perform research on VISIT FLORIDA’s behalf.
  • Developing survey questionnaires and analyzing results.
  • Developing recommendations on marketing strategy based on research results.
  • Managing qualitative data collection (e.g. focus groups) and analyzing results.
  • Presenting research findings to the marketing team.
  • Building models to forecast future tourism market conditions and trends.

 

VISIT FLORIDA is located in Tallahassee, FL but we are willing to consider candidates for a remote-based position. Some travel may be required. 

 

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a field such as economics, sociology, psychology, marketing, statistics, or a related field.
  • Ability to turn research findings into actionable insights.
  • Experience designing survey questionnaires & sampling frames and analyzing survey results in SPSS.
  • Intermediate or better skill using Microsoft Excel, including formulas.
  • Ability to communicate research findings to non-technical audiences, both orally and in writing.
  • Understanding of basic statistics.
  • Strong orientation toward internal and external customer service.
  • Strong attention to detail.

 

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a research position for a Destination Marketing Organization (DMO)/Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) or for a firm providing research services to DMOs/CVBs.
  • Experience measuring the effectiveness of marketing.
  • Experience creating data visualizations in Microsoft PowerBI, Tableau, or similar.
  • Experience building statistical models to forecast future market conditions or consumer behavior.
  • Experience managing contracts with outside vendors supplying research services.
