THE FUTURE OF SHOPPING IS ALREADY HERE

The pandemic has accelerated digital commerce adoption and turned shopping solutions like curbside pickup and contactless transactions – which were considered niche and ‘next gen’ up until very recently – into table stakes. Rather than accelerating the demise of traditional retail – something that had been forecast several times throughout the 2010s – this acceleration has transformed consumer expectations for how shopping experiences and retail should shape up, both in the present and in the future. To enable the dynamic shopping environment that younger consumers already expect today, brands need to enable increasingly more frictionless experiences to foster long-standing relationships beyond transactions. At the same time, they need to experiment to prepare for the future of shopping in a Web 3.0 world.
