Nearly four billion people in the world today do not have access to the internet. And in low- and middle-income countries, only 54 percent of women are connected to the mobile web. Reach Mobile, which bills itself a socially conscious mobile service, has made it a mission to extend the benefits of digital empowerment to women in need across the globe. Through its "Get a plan, Give a plan" initiative, Reach Mobile enables free data connectivity to women who are missing out on the digital revolution, often changing the course of their lives and the lives of their families. It's a powerful example of thinking beyond the bottom line and using purpose to make a meaningful difference in society.

In this episode of Beyond Profit, a podcast of the ANA Center for Brand Purpose hosted by Ken Beaulieu, Harjot Singh Saluja, cofounder and CEO of Reach Mobile, shares the backstory on the launch of the company, the importance of being a values-driven business, its partnerships with nonprofits, and more.

The Beyond Profit Podcast airs Tuesdays at 10AM EST. For more information about the ANA Podcast Network, visit www.ana.net/podcasts.
