AB InBev Taps Into New Marketing Strategies

Marcel Marcondes needs more shelf space. The Global CMO at AB InBev, whose brands include Budweiser, Stella Artois, and Corona, continues to rack up numerous advertising industry awards. Late last year he got the nod Adweek's "Brand Genius 2022" award. That was followed by the announcement in March that Cannes Lions awarded AB InBev with its creative marketer of the year award for the second straight year — the first time a company has repeated as winner. But Marcondes is quick to attribute the accolades not only to the beer company's marketing department but the entire organization.

In the latest episode of Champions of Growth, Marcondes joins host Matthew Schwartz to discuss how AB InBev is raising the bar for ad creative, why the company ceased its exclusive advertising rights to the Super Bowl starting this year and whether the recently opened Corona Island could be just a preview of additional forays into hospitality markets.
