Brand Activation Legal Webinar: February 2020

This event is over.

For February, presenters from Davis Wright Tremaine LLP will address the use of AI and machine learning in marketing from a practical perspective, including issues like the following: How should advertisers manage what their online chatbots can and can’t say, to avoid potential liability? How can hyper-realistic AI-generated “people” in ad content assist in marketing, and how can advertisers avoid potential liabilities use of artificial people might create?  How should advertisers manage and protect the proprietary and other data they use to feed their AI marketing efforts? How does the CCPA (and the GDPR) affect efforts to use AI in marketing? The presenters from Davis Wright Tremaine LLP are Chris Savage, Partner and Kay Jackson, Associate.

Chris Savage, Partner, helps companies in communications and data-centric industries navigate legal and regulatory issues involving communications, privacy, and data security. For clients with immediate problems, when compromise is possible, he negotiates solutions that work. When it isn’t, he litigates – against the government or private parties, as needed. For clients who can take a longer view, Chris works with regulators and legislators to help build a legal ecosystem where clients can flourish.

Chris brings nearly four decades of diverse experience to every client problem. He has handled issues about competitors entering established markets; technical and economic aspects of network interconnection; deployment of new technology and infrastructure; data security and privacy; and complex issues of cost allocation, financial accounting, and contract interpretation.

Kay Jackson, Associate, focuses on helping investors, executives, product managers, and engineering teams make decisions about how to identify and address the legal and security implications of data collection, use, and disclosure; the adoption of cutting edge technologies; and technology deployment projects, such as smart city infrastructure.

Her work includes advising clients on how to manage cybersecurity, privacy, and data ethics matters within their organizations. She also has experience supervising security assessments and forensic investigations, advising on potential criminal and civil liability associated with data security testing, and helping clients manage data and security risks associated with mergers and acquisitions.
