October’s Topic: Reaching & Retaining Customers in a Changing and Uncertain World

Reaching consumers in today’s crowded marketplace has never been more challenging. As consumers become more sophisticated and discerning in how they view ads and marketing campaigns, brands must develop more compelling and varied methods to attract and retain customers. But there efforts are not without peril, as some laws in these areas carry hefty statutory damages, even for technical missteps, such as the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, which entitles consumers to up to $1,500 for any text or phone call they did not agree to receive.

Presenting will be Marc Roth, Partner at Cobalt LLP, and formerly a partner at Davis Wright Tremaine and an FTC staff attorney, will provide attendees, with an overview of the laws and rules governing all channels of consumer outreach, including telemarketing, SMS marketing, e-mailing, direct mail, chat and facsimile marketing.
