Tim Smith

Tim Smith is a partner and president of Chemistry, where he leads the cultural vision of the agency.

Mr. Smith found his passion in college after winning a national student ad contest sponsored by Nissan. The winning ad featured the headline “Carry a heavy Load Every Semester” over a badly traced drawing of a Nissan Truck. Receiving a trophy for his efforts, his thirst for awards grew uncontrollable.

After graduating, Mr. Smith jumped into ad land. After creating the iconic M&M characters in a pitch for the Mars business, he went on to serve as Creative Director for large agencies across the country, working on the largest brands in the world. But his passion is creating culture. When he founded his first agency in 2007, he sought to pool together like-minded creative addicts, fed by cultural momentum and fueled by the causes that mattered to them. A staple of his agency practice is to invest in employee side-hustles, and local causes, from Friends of Animals to Feeding America. He has good shelf of accolades but loves seeing his agency continue to win awards and build brands with smart strategy and great creative thinking.

Mr. Smith lives in downtown Atlanta spending his free time with his family and painting in his studio.
