STRATEGIES IN A HIGH-INTENSITY FUNDRAISING COMPETITION

The fierce competition for fundraising leads to enormous organizational marketing spendings. In the session, we will dive deeply into the competitive landscape of fundraising and the strategies nonprofit managers and policymakers should be prioritizing to maximize donations. We analyzed competition from donors' perspectives using surveys and experiments. We found donors differentiate organizations by efficiency and impact when promoting similar causes, and by the cause itself when promoting different causes, leading to varied donation decisions. Thus, organizations promoting similar causes should cooperate to compete better with organizations promoting different causes, and policymakers should encourage such cooperation to decrease overall marketing expenses.

PRIVACY AND THE FUTURE OF NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS MARKETING

Join us for an engaging expert panel discussion that delves into the dynamic intersection of privacy laws and nonprofit organizations (NPOs), focusing on the groundbreaking Colorado Privacy Act (CPA). In 2023, Colorado became the first state to eliminate exemptions for NPOs under privacy laws, ushering in a new era of challenges and opportunities.

This important discussion aims to provide nonprofits with valuable insights into the future by drawing parallels with the for-profit sector's experiences since the implementation of GDPR in 2018 and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) in 2020, which had profound effects on marketing strategies. Nonprofits can leverage this knowledge to propel their digital transformation journey by embracing privacy-centric digital capabilities, thereby achieving substantial digital marketing outcomes.

Join us to explore how nonprofits can proactively navigate the challenges posed by privacy laws, turning them into catalysts for positive change in the realm of digital marketing.
