ANA Announces Winners of the 2007 Multicultural Excellence Awards

Advertisers Honored in Five Categories

The ANA (Association of National Advertisers) today announced the winners of the 2007 Multicultural Excellence Awards. Now in its seventh year, the awards recognize ANA member companies and marketers for producing outstanding multicultural advertising campaigns that ran between June 2006 and May 2007.

The winners of each category are:

  • African American: Procter & Gamble for Olay Definity.  The agency behind the campaign was Burrell Communications.
  • Asian: California Department of Health - Anti Smoking.  The agency partner was IW Group.
  • Hispanic: PepsiCo - Sierra Mist, created with Dieste, Harmel & Partners.
  • Campaign with Significant Results: Toyota Motor Sales - Toyota Yaris. The agency partner was Conill Advertising.
  • General Market: Anheuser-Busch - Bud Light, with agency partner Latin Works.

The 2007 grand prize award recipients in each category were announced at a special ceremony during the ANA's Multicultural Marketing Conference, which concluded today, held at The Boca Raton Resort and Club in Boca Raton, Florida.

"I heartily congratulate each and every one of our winners for bringing multicultural marketing to a higher level of excellence," said Bob Liodice, President and CEO of the ANA.  "Each year the caliber of work improves and contributes to highlighting the importance of this topic to the marketing industry."

The awards are sponsored by the ANA Multicultural Marketing Committee.  The committee, which was established in 1998, helps ANA members share knowledge and best practices in marketing to America's burgeoning ethnic markets.  A portion of the proceeds collected from the awards submission fees will be used to help fund scholarships for high-potential multicultural students who plan to pursue careers in advertising and/or marketing.
