Organizing Opportunity.
The marketing organization of five years ago is likely not the right organization for today. Today’s organization well likely not be the right one three years from now. As business marketing’s transformation continues unabated, so must our thinking about how to design and deploy marketing organizations that can achieve high performance in a fluid and fast-changing world. How should organizations be structured and enabled? Which skill sets are required, and which will be? How can organizational capacity and human energy be sustained and turned into a business advantage? How can marketing organizations be inspired so that they in turn can inspire internal and external audiences? More so than ever, world-class marketing starts with a world-class marketing organization.
At Organizing Opportunity, the 5th Annual BMA New York Regional Conference, hear from experts in organizational design, from innovators in the care and feeding of high capacity teams, and from renowned CMOs at the forefront of re-imagining their organizations in a vastly changed context. In every way, we are at an inflection point at which people and how they are organized are the foundation for opportunity and advantage. It’s why the BMA16 New York Regional Conference, produced by the BMA NYC, will be unlike any other you attend this year in terms of its importance and impact.
SESSIONS AND SPEAKERS TO DATE INCLUDE:
Human Capability!
Human Energy: The Project to Power People’s Performance
Tony Schwartz
CEO and Founder, The Energy Project
Many know Tony Schwartz as co-author of Donald Trump’s “The Art of the Deal,” and for his candid and intimate insights on Mr. Trump’s suitability for the presidency. Many know Tony from his New York Times bestsellers, “The Way We’re Working Isn’t Working” and “The Power of Full Engagement” and his frequent appearances on CBS This Morning speaking about the workplace. Some know Tony for his company, The Energy Project, and its groundbreaking work with clients such Google, Nestle, Bristol Meyers Squibb, Kaiser Permanente, Facebook and Alcoa focusing on helping organizations fuel the internal capacity of their workforce.
Tony and The Energy Project believe that In physics (and organizations) energy is defined as “the capacity to do work.” In this session, Tony will suggest that the most fundamental responsibility of any Chief Marketing Officer is to serve simultaneously as a Chief Energy Officer. This means mobilizing, focusing, inspiring and sustaining the energy of those you lead – first by skillfully managing your own energy and, second, by helping to manage the energy of your team and your entire organization.
The challenge each of us face, however, is not just how to be more effective and productive at work, but also how to lead more whole and meaningful lives. In this talk, Tony will also introduce for the first time The Human Energy Project, a movement designed to help people rethink and redesign their lives, by tapping more of their inner resources – physical, emotional, mental and spiritual – and in doing do redesign the world
(And yes, Tony will take questions on his interactions with Donald Trump!).
