Walton’s 5&10 was Sam Walton’s first store and is now the home of the Walmart Visitor Center, which features an interactive exhibit gallery displaying Walmart’s heritage. Appetizers and drinks will be served during the reception, giving members a chance to mingle, reconnect, and view the gallery.

Stephen Quinn, EVP and Chief Marketing Officer, will share Walmart’s approach to game-changing innovation and how he and his team are innovating for success. He will touch on how Walmart is leading from the front with key initiatives like “SoLoMo” (social, local & mobile), real-time marketing, multicultural marketing, and their “Apps Not Ads” philosophy. In addition Stephen will speak about how his team has reinvented the creative model for speed, content and low cost, and removed non-value added components in the marketing value chain.

As the world evolves, General Mills continues to adapt how they build their brands and product offerings for today’s consumer.  Long gone is the “interruption model,” as the company looks to create brands that offer purpose and value to their brand champions.  Hear how General Mills has been successful by inviting consumers in to help craft their marketing messages to be more relevant and meaningful and has grown comfortable launching campaigns 80% done and then allowing consumers to weigh in.  This innovative new approach to brand building has helped reignite classic brands including Bisquick, Progresso and Yoplait.

DRIVING INNOVATION AT KRAFT (& 70 NEW PRODUCTS!)

The leader of the Innovation Center of Excellence for Kraft will share the story of the company’s recent major upsurge in innovation performance. He will discuss how Kraft’s leadership made innovation a strategic priority and the story behind how the company has recently risen to top-tier level of innovation performance in the CPG industry – capped off by the launch of over 70 new products in early 2012. He will also share lessons learned from the journey and some general thoughts on innovation from spending over 18 years in marketing innovation roles.

BRAND BUILDING INNOVATION IN A DIGITAL WORLD
Alex Tosolini of P&G and Alan Godfrey of Bazaarvoice will discuss how P&G brands connect with consumers. By using Bazaarvoice’s innovative solutions, P&G is able to harness the voice of the consumer to spark digital conversations, channel content into places where it influences purchase and gather business insights that allow them to act on what consumers want. They will share insights from P&G’s journey to move beyond one-way monologue in brand building and demonstrate the power of word of mouth on the path to purchase.
