For March’s meeting, Davis & Gilbert LLP’s presentation will include a discussion of recent: (i) FTC developments; (ii) Lanham Act and class action false advertising updates; and (iii) privacy developments. Presenting from Davis & Gilbert LLP will be Associates’ Paavana Kumar and Justin Lee, David Greenberg, Senior Attorney.

David S. Greenberg, Senior Attorney, in the Litigation Practice Group of Davis & Gilbert. He has experience in a variety of areas of commercial litigation, ranging from complex contractual issues, to intellectual property claims, to business torts such as fraud, interference with business relationships, and civil RICO.  Mr. Greenberg represents clients in federal and state courts, and in arbitration and other alternative dispute resolution proceedings. He has handled numerous copyright and trademark disputes involving advertising agencies and their clients. Mr. Greenberg has also defended claims, including consumer class actions, implicating consumer fraud, false advertising, and deceptive or unfair trade practices. In addition, he has litigated several employment matters involving alleged breaches of restrictive covenants and misappropriation of trade secrets.

Paavana L. Kumar, Associate in the Advertising, Marketing & Promotions; Entertainment, Media & Sports; Intellectual Property; and Digital Media, Technology & Privacy Practice Groups of Davis & Gilbert. Ms. Kumar represents advertising and content marketing agencies, advertisers, media and start-up technology companies, publishers, influencer networks and individual artists across multiple industries in connection with all aspects of advertising, marketing and entertainment. Ms. Kumar has extensive experience in the area of native advertising, branded content, and endorsements and testimonials, including in the context of custom content deals, complex media buys and influencer network campaigns. Ms. Kumar frequently advises clients on interpreting the most recent FTC and other regulatory guidance as applied to social media and influencer marketing.

Justin H. Lee, Associate in the Advertising, Marketing & Promotions Practice Group of Davis & Gilbert. Mr. Lee represents advertising agencies, media companies, public relations agencies and advertisers in connection with many areas of advertising, entertainment, marketing and promotions law. His practice includes reviewing advertising collateral, drafting a variety of agreements and licenses, and advising on the use of social media in advertising. He has a particular focus on counseling clients on technology, intellectual property, internet, data security and privacy issues. Mr. Lee is a Certified Information Privacy Professional in U.S. Privacy Law, as designated by the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
