The recent report from K2 Intelligence on media rebates and incentives concluded that numerous non-transparent business practices were found to be pervasive in a sample of the U.S. media ad-buying ecosystem. In response, ANA released a publication in July, Media Transparency: Prescriptions, Principles, and Processes for Advertisers, which lays out a framework that includes recommended responsibilities for advertisers and agencies meant to address the issues raised by the K2 study. Included in the recommendations is a media agency Master Media Buying Services and Planning Agreement which can be used by advertisers in developing their own agency agreements.
