Study Shows Mixed Bag on Back-to-School Spending

Parents plan to boost their spending on clothes and accessories and dial back purchasing of technology and school supplies

Back-to-school spending for K-12 students overall is estimated to reach $30.9 billion, or approximately $570 per student, according to a new survey released by Deloitte. But with a slowing economy, consumers are planning to make much more cost-conscious decisions and put a premium on value.
