Course: Nurturing Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging in the Workplace

A lack of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) in the workplace increases employee attrition, lowers productivity, and decreases creativity. This course will introduce you to DEIB and its role in creating a productive and successful workplace. You will learn how bias functions in all people, how to identify it, and how to decrease bias. You will also develop skills to address resistance to DEIB and encourage acceptance of DEIB principles and concepts on an individual, team, and organizational level. Finally, you will learn to use an actionable model for integrating DEIB into the fabric of your organization to improve retention, promote effectiveness, and support innovation.

Dina Shapiro is the founder of Yorkville Consulting, a firm that provides clients with marketing capabilities training and helps them be world-class marketers by developing insightful brand strategies. Dina has worked inside Fortune 125 companies such as Citi and Alcoa, and top global agencies such as BBDO and JWT, at a 50/50 split throughout her career. She has experience across a wide range of industries, including financial services, corporate, retail, consumer packaged good, sports, travel & tourism, business-to-business, and industrials. She looks at a client’s business with curiosity and fresh perspective, to bring clients out of their everyday and open them up to new and relevant insights and connections. 

Dina is a member of the ANA Faculty, and she has received top industry awards such as two Gold Effies, Cannes Lion, and an Honorary Webby. She has judged the Effies twice. Dina holds an M.B.A. from Boston University and a B.A. in Economics from George Washington University.



Mary Czarnecki

Mary Czarnecki is a co-founder of MAC Marketing Partners, the customer-centric marketing agency for market-leading brands. Mary has 20 years of experience driving revenue and customer impact growth for Fortune 100 companies and is no stranger to the "virtual environment," having delivered consulting and training services "remotely" since 2015. She is a regular advisor to market-leading brand teams and in addition to her work with MAC Marketing Partners, she applies her expertise in brand building and social media strategy to develop personal brand platforms for high-impact female entrepreneurs and executives to accelerate both career and business success.

Mary has been acknowledged as a top instructor for the ANA’s Marketing Training & Development Center and has developed several online courses for business leaders and entrepreneurs. She also leads live virtual group coaching programs for executives and entrepreneurs on topics such as virtual leadership, brand development, and online business growth.

Mary received her M.B.A. and M.E.M. from Yale University and B.A. from Princeton University.

Kaiser Yang is the CEO of Platypus Labs, a consultancy he created to help organizations systematically build a culture of innovation in order to solve complex problems and drive measurable results. Prior to Platypus Labs, he was at the forefront of the digital transformation, holding senior leadership roles at both tech startups and large, global organizations.

Over the last 16 years, Kaiser served as Managing Director for both HelloWorld, Foresee and PrizeLogic, leading large-scale digital marketing programs in 81 countries for Fortune 100 clients such as Microsoft, Disney, Amazon, and Nike. Kaiser's broad-based experience in sales, client service, technology, operations, and marketing help him serve clients today with a multi-disciplinary approach. Prior to leading and growing startups, Kaiser held leadership roles at Nortel, Dole Foods Japan, and United Technologies. Kaiser holds an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan.


Lisa M. Harrison

MBA, Diversity and Human Resources Consultant

Lisa Harrison has been managing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the public and private sectors for over 20 years. Lisa develops and delivers in-person and virtual training, works with organizations on creating diverse strategic plans, and helps organizations build impactful, inclusive workforce development programs. Lisa’s unique blend of diversity, management, and human resources experience is the basis of her consulting business. Lisa’s MBA program provided her with the foundation to develop management and team-building training relevant to the workplace.
