For December’s meeting, attorneys from Katten Muchin Rosenman will provide updates on recent NAD decisions, class action and Lanham Act case updates, and updates on Privacy Law and FTC Enforcement Actions. The presenters from Katten will include Dagatha Delgado, Matthew Hartzler, Michael Justus, Jeremy Merkel, and Sean Wooden.

Dagatha Delgado, Associate, provides advice on privacy and technology matters, including compliance with rapidly evolving privacy and cybersecurity laws, and engaging and managing IT and cloud service providers. As a member of Katten’s data breach response team, Dagatha also steps in to help clients respond to and recover from data breaches and security incidents.

Matthew Hartzler, Associate, provides efficient solutions for media, fashion and technology clients that allows them to protect their expression, branding and innovation through intellectual property law. Prior to becoming an attorney, Matt spent his early career as a filmmaker. His experience in film allows him to be a collaborator and advisor to individuals who work in creative fields. Matt concentrates on copyright and trademark counseling, counterfeit and piracy policing, and contract disputes involving intellectual property.

Jeremy Merkel, Associate, counsels’ businesses and organizations across a range of industries on privacy and data security matters. Combining his knowledge of the cybersecurity landscape with his technical experience, Jeremy is a trusted advisor to companies during the critical moments of identifying and responding to data security incidents. From the moment a breach is identified, Jeremy leverages resources to understand the scope of an incident, assess the risk to data and sensitive information and mitigate legal exposure.

Sean Wooden, Partner, helps companies large and small develop strategies to protect their intellectual property and avoid infringing others' intellectual property. He represents clients on deals to acquire rights in intellectual property assets, whether by purchase or license, as well as in intellectual property litigation and prosecution. Often, his assistance includes not just drafting agreements, but helping clients analyze and value intellectual property assets.
