For March’s meeting, attorneys from Reed Smith will provide updates on recent FTC and NAD activity, false advertising cases, and related developments in privacy law. Erika Auger, Emily Faro, Edward Fultz, Angie Matney, Idara Udofia and Toam Rubinstein will be presenting.

Erika Auger, Associate, focuses her practice on advertising and marketing, including counseling on digital and social media, right of publicity matters, sweepstakes and promotions, and she advises on the protection, maintenance, and licensing of copyrights and trademarks. Her practice also includes drafting and reviewing various agreements including advertising agency/client agreements, media planning/buying agreements, and sponsorship agreements.

Emily Faro, Associate in Reed Smith’s New York office. Emily’s practice focuses on Entertainment and Media, Advertising, Marketing, Data Privacy and Security, and Corporate Transactions.

Edward Fultz, Associate, in Reed Smith’s Washington, D.C. office. He has experience with Intellectual Property, Trademark Law, Data Privacy, Sports, and Entertainment and Media.

Angie Matney, Counsel, in the Entertainment and Media Industry Group. Her practice focuses on information privacy, data security, and digital accessibility. She supports clients in a wide range of industries, including health care, pharmaceuticals, entertainment and media, consumer packaged goods, retail, real estate, hospitality, travel, and financial services. 

Idara Udofia, Counsel, in the Entertainment & Media Industry Group. Their practice centers around data privacy and security, advertising, marketing, e-commerce, technology and brand protection. Recognized for providing practical, strategic, advice, Idara advises clients on various data protection laws, including, CCPA, COPPA, BIPA, and GDPR. Idara goes beyond identifying risks in a space that is ever evolving, and helps clients optimize data and strategically develop privacy-forward products and services. Leveraging their prior in-house experience, they help customize information governance programs geared toward enhancing clients’ internal operations around data protection. 

Toam Rubinstein, Senior Associate, in the Entertainment & Media Group. Her practice focuses on various aspects of advertising, brand development, and media initiatives, including endorsement and influencer marketing, talent services, branded entertainment deals, new media developments, emerging and traditional media distribution, content development and clearance, product innovation, sweepstakes and promotions, as well as live event production. Toam is also a member of the cannabis law team and helps members of the cannabis industry navigate its complex regulatory environment in connection with their advertising and brand development initiatives.
