AGENDA:

1:00 - 1:10: Introductions

1:10 - 1:40: How Top Brands Are Winning at ESG and Public Trust

For the past three years, the ANA-Swayable ESG Brand Perception Index has been tracking consumer perceptions of ESG performance for over 400 top U.S. consumer brands. During that time, there have been significant trends in how consumers view the impact of these companies and their products, and in an increasingly divided national landscape, ESG itself. This session will lay out the key movements and insights across each of the main sectors tracked: FMCG, healthcare, insurance, retail, finance, travel, and entertainment.

James Slezak is co-founder and CEO of Swayable. He previously held senior digital roles at the New York Times and was a founding partner at social impact agency Purpose. James holds a PhD in Physics from Cornell and has been an affiliate of the Harvard Berkman-Klein Center for Internet and Society, as well as the Princeton Kahneman Center for Behavioral Science and Public Policy.

1:40 - 2:20: How to overcome ESG paralysis and inspire action

Brands are expected to act on ESG topics yet are facing increasing scrutiny or backlash. From a Super Bowl in 2018 ripe with activist brands to a Corporate America now in paralysis or embarking on a value crusade jeopardizing growth or brand love. A new way forward is needed that can bridge the political fault line and inspire action. Join this inspiration and conversation session, where we explore fresh answers.

2:20 - 2:30: Wrap Up
