Inclusive Gender Representation Committee


The Inclusive Gender Representation Committee is for client-side marketers across industries and media service providers who influence strategy, insights, creative development, and brand communications. Those interested in learning how modern, accurate portrayals of gender can improve marketing effectiveness and brand relevance are encouraged to participate. Professionals at any level who want to move beyond outdated stereotypes and reflect today’s consumers in their work will find this committee valuable.

As gender roles, identities, and expectations evolve, many brands are working to ensure their advertising reflects who people actually are, and how they live, work, and relate today. This committee provides a forum for learning, peer exchange, and practical discussion focused on portraying men and women in ways that are authentic, respectful, and culturally current. Conversations center on helping marketers create work that resonates more deeply, builds trust, and drives stronger business outcomes through more accurate and meaningful representation.

The Inclusive Gender Representation Committee meets virtually once per quarter for 90 minutes in a structured, discussion-based format. Sessions include expert perspectives, peer case studies, and working discussions designed to be directly applicable to members’ day-to-day responsibilities.

This committee will also support the ANA Inclusive Marketing Practice and industry events, including the 2026 ANA Multicultural and Inclusive Marketing Conference, which will be held in Los Angeles, Calif., November 9–11, by contributing insights, case studies, and subject matter expertise related to inclusive and effective gender representation in marketing.
