Health Care Data Privacy Working Group

As you may be aware, the FTC recently announced proposed amendments to the Health Breach Notification Rule (ANA's comments here).  We are also waiting for an announcement from the FTC's "commercial surveillance and data security" rulemaking. Both of these will have effects on how our healthcare and pharmaceutical company members handle, process, and use health care data to reach consumers.

Many ANA members have asked us how they can adapt and thrive in this era of increasing restrictions on the use of data. To that end, we have set up a Health Care Data Privacy Working Group for ANA members in the consumer healthcare and pharmaceutical space. The intent of the working group is to share information and best practices in dealing with health data legislative and regulatory proposals, both federal and state.
