ANA CMO MarTech Mastery Series: Building High-Performing Teams & Culture
This event is over.
Marketing technology performance is ultimately a people and culture challenge. Even the most advanced MarTech stack will underdeliver without the right team structure, skills, and environment to support it.
This MarTech Mastery Workshop focuses on how CMOs and MarTech leaders can build and lead high-performing teams and a winning culture capable of thriving amid constant change. Grounded in the Talent and Organization chapter of The CMO’s Playbook for Marketing Technology, the session explores the organizational design, leadership behaviors, and cultural foundations that enable marketing teams to consistently deliver results.
Led by Chris Heuer, Founder and Managing Director of Team Flow Institute, this session blends strategic leadership insight with practical, real-world application. Participants will examine best practices for structuring modern MarTech and marketing operations teams, developing talent through structured learning paths, and fostering cross-functional collaboration across marketing, IT, data, and commercial functions.
The workshop places particular emphasis on the cultural conditions that unlock performance at scale: psychological safety, shared accountability, and a test-and-learn mindset where teams are empowered to experiment, fail fast, and continuously improve. Attendees will learn how leading organizations create environments where people feel confident taking smart risks, learning from outcomes, and iterating quickly, without sacrificing rigor or results.
Participants will leave with:
- Practical strategies for designing and evolving high-performing MarTech and marketing operations teams
- Guidance on building structured learning and development paths that keep skills current and teams engaged
- Proven approaches to fostering cross-functional collaboration and breaking down silos
- Leadership techniques for creating psychological safety and a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement
- A personal action plan to strengthen team performance and culture within their own organization
This workshop is ideal for CMOs, marketing technology leaders, marketing operations professionals, and people leaders who want to build resilient teams, develop future-ready talent, and create a culture where both people and performance can thrive.
