9 Ways to Advertise Your In-House Team’s Caliber

April 28, 2021

By Greg Wright

In-house agencies and marketing teams have always been at the heart of their brand, and through the last decade we’ve seen in-house teams step up to the challenge of delivering incredibly creative and results driven campaigns, many of which rival or surpass work that is produced externally. The importance of in-house marketing teams through the past year has only been accelerated due to increased reliance on them to deliver business results.

After a year+ of pivots, video calls, and trying to find work-life balance, it’s time we take a moment and celebrate all the amazing work in-house marketing teams and agencies have produced. Enter the ANA In-House Excellence Awards! This new awards program celebrates all the great work in-house agencies and teams have created.

One key aspect of this awards program, which sets it apart from others, is its focus on results. The ANA plays a key role within the industry, helping our members focus on driving business and brand growth. Building on that mission, the ANA In-House Excellence Awards don’t just celebrate great creative, they also celebrate work that produced great results.

There are nine categories to enter work into, including three special showcase categories and a “Best in Show” award chosen from all the entered work. Each category’s scoring criteria is broken into thirds across strategy, creative execution, and business results. The only exception is the “Significant Results” category, which has an increased weighting of 50 percent for results and 25 percent each for strategy and creative execution. This awards program is a great way to highlight how your in-house team drove those business results.

It takes all types of marketers and advertisers to produce an award-winning campaign. Most in-house teams don’t do it alone. Many rely on the expertise and knowledge that agencies bring. Which is why we included the “Best Collaborative Effort” category. This category is a great opportunity for internal teams and external agencies to showcase their collaborative work.

And what’s an awards program without a celebration? We’ve secured September 21 as our big (virtual) gala, celebrating and announcing all the wonderful winners.

The ANA In-House Excellence Awards are an excellent opportunity to showcase all the great marketing work your in-house team has completed. That said, the early bird deadline for entries is fast approaching on May 7. If you can’t make that deadline, you have until June 18 to get your entries submitted. The award program is open to members and nonmembers alike, as well as internal agencies/teams of all shapes and sizes.

I hope to see your entry in the winner’s circle!
