The ANA Global CMO Growth Council Position on Generative AI — Draft October 2023

CMOs are the company's primary stewards of brands and the people they serve. As such, any decision a CMO makes related to generative AI carries the potential for a uniquely multifaceted impact on their company, on their extensive network of agencies and suppliers, on their consumers, as well as on society and culture.

As a leadership body, the ANA Board of Directors and the Global CMO Growth Council will lean into this opportunity to proactively establish a leadership position while we are still in the early phases of this transformation. This session will help determine a direction and top priorities to address on the path forward.

The CMOs of the ANA Global CMO Growth Council community have steered the development of a common set of principles and guidance to help ensure that AI-based initiatives create value without unintended consequences that may be harmful to any of their constituents.
